CALL ME JADEL
The 2020 Debut Album by Jadel
Released on February 26, 2020, Call Me Jadel is the debut studio album by Trinidad and Tobago female Soca artist, singer and songwriter Jadel.
The independently released seven-track project introduced listeners to a more personal and versatile side of Jadel’s artistry. Rooted in Soca while drawing from R&B, Caribbean Pop and contemporary island sounds, the album captures her ability to move between energetic rhythms, melodic songwriting and emotionally driven performances.
Rather than limiting herself to one style, Jadel used Call Me Jadel to establish the musical range that would continue to shape her catalogue. The project reflects both her Caribbean upbringing and the R&B influences she grew up listening to, creating a sound that remains unmistakably her own.
The album includes “Hold Me Close,” Jadel’s collaboration with producer London Future. The song explored an R&B-Soca crossover sound and became an early example of the softer, melodic direction she would continue developing throughout later releases.
Call Me Jadel marked a new chapter in Jadel’s career and laid the foundation for the years of recording, touring and international growth that followed. It was later followed by her second studio album, Don’t Be Mistaken, in 2024.
