Jadel’s 2024 Sophomore Album
Released on March 29, 2024, Don’t Be Mistaken is the second studio album by Trinidad and Tobago female Soca artist, singer and songwriter Jadel.
The ten-track album represents a confident new chapter in Jadel’s career, bringing together Soca, Dancehall, R&B and contemporary Caribbean influences. Across the project, Jadel moves between high-energy records, melodic songwriting, personal storytelling and international collaborations while maintaining the distinctive voice at the center of her music.
Don’t Be Mistaken followed Jadel’s 2020 debut album, Call Me Jadel, and reflects the artistic growth she experienced through several years of recording, touring and performing internationally.
About the Album
The title Don’t Be Mistaken reflects Jadel’s determination to define herself and her artistry on her own terms.
The album presents her as a versatile Caribbean recording artist who is equally comfortable delivering energetic Soca performances, emotionally driven vocals and crossover records shaped by R&B and Dancehall.
The project includes “Addictive,” featuring Jamaican Dancehall artist Charly Black; “Right Track,” featuring Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Soca artist Skinny Fabulous; and the “Shake Up” remix featuring Jamaican recording artist Demarco.
Other songs on the album include “Calypso,” “Doh Ease Meh Up,” “Deserve It All,” “Yuh Man,” “Up In The Party” and “Hot Topic.”
Together, the ten tracks capture different stages of Jadel’s musical journey while presenting them as one complete body of work.
Independent Caribbean Music
Don’t Be Mistaken was independently released through Julianspromos Worldwide, with Jadel represented by JP Music Group.
The album’s collaborations, production styles and genre influences reflect Jadel’s connection to the wider Caribbean music industry and her continued goal of introducing Soca to audiences around the world.
The project also provided the musical foundation for Jadel’s 2024 Addictive Tour, continuing the run of annual touring campaigns that began with the Up In The Party Tour in 2022.
