Jadel’s Biography

The story of an independent artist from Trinidad & Tobago who continues to bring Caribbean music to audiences around the world.

Jardine Cherelle Legere, known professionally as Jadel, is an independent recording artist, singer, songwriter, pianist, entrepreneur, and proud mother from the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Blending the infectious rhythms of Soca with R&B, Dancehall, and Afropop, she has emerged as one of the Caribbean's most compelling independent artists, celebrated for her powerful vocals, commanding stage presence, and authentic storytelling.

Growing up in Woodbrook, Port of Spain, Jadel discovered music at the age of nine through school and church choirs. After relocating to the United States, she continued developing her artistry while performing with the Caribbean bands Surface and Traffik. Her talent as both a vocalist and songwriter quickly gained industry attention, leading to a songwriting collaboration with renowned producer Kernal Roberts on Machel Montano's hit single "Haunted" in 2014.

Although she was simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Law through the University of London, Jadel soon realized that music, not law, was her true calling.

That decision proved to be life changing.

In 2016, Jadel broke onto the international scene with the Chutney Soca smash "All of It," earning the Carib Breakout Artiste Award and launching her first European tour across the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Spain. She followed with standout releases including "Round N Round," "Dominate," and "Jam Day," the latter securing a place in the International Soca Monarch Semifinals after becoming one of Carnival's standout anthems. During this period, she also shared the stage with Kes The Band at New York City's iconic Best Buy Theater.

A new chapter began in 2020 when Jadel signed with JP Music Group, a division of Julianspromos Worldwide led by Julian Hackett. Her debut album, Call Me Jadel, introduced listeners to her signature blend of Soca and contemporary Caribbean sounds, producing fan favorites including "Dominate," "Round N Round," "Jam Day," and "Hold Me Close." The project has since accumulated more than two million streams.

Her international profile accelerated with the release of "Deserve It All," which became her biggest streaming success, surpassing seven million streams worldwide while receiving rotation on BET Jams and MTV. The success firmly established Jadel as one of Soca's emerging global voices.

Since then, Jadel has continued to build an impressive catalog with songs including "Yuh Man," "Up In The Party," "Shake Up" featuring Demarco, "Doh Ease Meh Up," "Addictive" featuring Charly Black, "Calypso," "Jam Somebody," "Meh Darlin," "Bubbling Champion" featuring DJ Private Ryan, and "Fitness" featuring Trinidad Killa. Her sophomore album, Don't Be Mistaken (2024), further showcased her versatility while earning over one million streams and prominent promotion on Times Square billboards.

On stage, Jadel has become one of Carnival's most sought-after performers, appearing at more than 100 major events while touring extensively throughout the Caribbean, North America, Europe, and Asia. Her performances have taken her to St. Kitts, Antigua, London, Toronto, New York, Miami, Singapore, Belize, Japan, Malta, Switzerland, and Germany. Along the way, she has earned multiple Caribbean Music Award nominations, including Female Soca Artist of the Year and Impact Soca Artist of the Year.

As both an artist and songwriter, Jadel continues to push the boundaries of modern Caribbean music, seamlessly blending classic Soca influences with contemporary global sounds while remaining deeply connected to the culture that inspires her.

Now, entering Carnival 2026, Jadel unveils her most confident chapter yet with "Another Man," an empowering anthem produced by XplicitMevon, followed by the crossover single "Permission," co-written with GBM Nutron. Together, the records showcase the many dimensions of her artistry, strength and vulnerability, grit and glamour, Carnival energy and everyday authenticity.

"This season is about stepping fully into who I am," says Jadel. "I'm not only the voice you hear on stage and radio. I'm the woman who lives the same struggles, laughter, and love as my fans."

Today, Jadel continues to expand her global audience while proudly representing Trinidad and Tobago through music that celebrates Caribbean culture, empowers listeners, and proves that independent artistry can thrive on the world stage.
