Jadel Makes Explosive Toronto Return at SOS Colours Jouvert Night

Trinidad and Tobago female Soca artist Jadel made an explosive return to the Greater Toronto Area on Friday, July 31, delivering a high-energy performance at Colours – J’Ouvert Night during Summer of Soca Festival 2026.
The performance marked Jadel’s first Toronto-area appearance of 2026 and her only event during Toronto Carnival weekend. For fans hoping to see her perform during the city’s annual Carnival celebrations, SOS Colours was the only opportunity.
Jadel was also the only female performing Soca artist featured on the Colours cast, making her appearance stand out among the night’s live vocal performances.
A Fiery Sundown Performance
Backed by DJ Sarjeant, Jadel took the stage during the 9 p.m. sundown slot at Markham Fairgrounds, performing before more than 2,000 attendees.
Dramatic pyrotechnics illuminated the stage as she entered, setting the tone for a fast-paced performance filled with loud cheers, screams and nonstop movement from the crowd.
The Toronto audience remained engaged throughout the set, responding strongly to both familiar selections from Jadel’s catalogue and songs they were experiencing live for the first time.
The evening also featured performances by Benjai, Mical Teja, Coutain and Muddy, along with surprise appearances from Full Blown and Yung Bredda.
Mical Teja, Full Blown, Muddy, Coutain and Yung Bredda were backed by Ravi B & The Karma Band, bringing a live-band component to the night’s performances. DJ Ana was among the DJs contributing to the event’s entertainment.
An Eight-Song Set in 17 Minutes
During her tightly paced 17-minute performance, Jadel delivered eight songs using a combination of original studio tracks and custom live-band edits prepared for the stage.
She opened with “Jam Somebody,” immediately establishing the energy of the set.
The performance then moved into custom live-band edits of “Shake Up,” “Up In The Party” and “Addictive.” The sequence allowed Jadel to move through several eras of her catalogue while maintaining the nonstop pace expected from the J’Ouvert crowd.

“Call Me” Receives Its First Live Performance
The SOS stage also became the setting for the first-ever live performance of Jadel’s latest Soca release, “Call Me.”
Released in early July, the song was written by Jadel and produced by Boogy Ranks. Although the track had already been officially released, SOS Colours gave an audience the first opportunity to experience it as part of Jadel’s live show.
The crowd’s reaction offered an early indication of how the song could connect in a festival setting.
Jadel followed “Call Me” with Machel Montano’s “Haunted,” a song she co-wrote, before performing the Square One and Alison Hinds classic “Togetherness.”
She then closed the set with her 2026 single “Another Man.” It was the first time the song had been performed for a Toronto audience, and the closing moments produced some of the loudest cheers and screams of the performance.
“Toronto always brings an incredible energy, and SOS has felt like family since my first performance in 2022,” said Jadel. “Hearing the crowd react to ‘Call Me’ and ‘Another Man’ for the first time was a special moment, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.”
A Daring New Look for SOS
Jadel also introduced a bold new stage look created specifically for her return to the festival.
She appeared with a jet-black mohawk, a spiked corset, lace-detailed denim jeans and towering 12-inch platform heels.
The look was styled by her manager, Julian Hackett, who enjoys seeking out daring and unconventional fashion concepts that complement Jadel’s personality, music and energetic performance style.
The outfit continued a tradition that has developed across Jadel’s appearances at SOS. Each time she returns to the festival, she introduces a different and unexpected visual direction, turning her stage fashion into another anticipated part of the performance.
Jadel’s Third SOS Appearance
Jadel first performed at SOS in 2022 and returned in 2024 before making her third appearance in 2026.
The three appearances have created a biennial pattern that she hopes to continue with another return in 2028.
Her ongoing relationship with the SOS team has been built around her energy, professionalism, talent and reputation for being easy to work with, along with the hospitality extended to Jadel and her team during each appearance.
Upon arriving backstage this year, Jadel was personally greeted by SOS promoter Andrew Lalla.
She was also welcomed with a customized display of branded snacks featuring her name and image. The display added a thoughtful personal touch to her return and reflected the relationship that has developed between Jadel and the festival team over the years.
Summer of Soca Festival 2026
Colours – J’Ouvert Night served as the opening event of Summer of Soca Festival 2026.
Held during Toronto Carnival weekend, the festival featured three days and four events from July 31 through August 2. Organizers describe SOS as the largest three-day Caribbean music festival in North America.
The opening night concluded with a massive fireworks display above Markham Fairgrounds, bringing the performances and festivities to a spectacular close.
The Crowd Reaction Continued in New York
Jadel departed Toronto the following day and returned to New York City.
After arriving at LaGuardia Airport, she was approached by fans who had also travelled back from Toronto Carnival weekend and recognized her from the SOS stage.
The fans told Jadel how much they loved her performance, giving her an unexpected reminder that the impact of the set had travelled beyond the festival grounds.
The airport encounter was a fitting conclusion to Jadel’s first Toronto-area performance of 2026, a night defined by strong crowd support, a bold new look, new live moments and another memorable chapter in her relationship with SOS Festival.
